Nathaniel Lacktman Joins Tampa Bay Wave’s HealthTech|X Accelerator Advisory Council
Foley furthers commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the growth of health technology startups
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Nathaniel “Nate” Lacktman will serve as a member of the Advisory Council for Tampa Bay Wave’s inaugural HealthTech|X Accelerator program, an innovative initiative to support high-potential health technology startups ready to scale in Tampa and beyond.
Lacktman is chair of Foley’s national Telemedicine & Digital Health Industry Team and advises health care providers and technology companies on business arrangements, compliance, and corporate matters. As a member of the HealthTech|X Accelerator Advisory Council, he will provide mentorship and guidance to entrepreneurs advancing health care technology.
The HealthTech|X Accelerator program is a strategic collaboration between Tampa Bay Wave, a nonprofit accelerator for high-growth startups, and the University of South Florida, supported by a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The program does not have an equity requirement and offers an immersive 90-day experience with one-on-one mentoring, pitch coaching, and investment readiness training. Applications are currently being accepted and the program is set to officially launch on July 22, 2024.
Lacktman’s participation on this council is an extension of Foley’s long relationship with Tampa Bay Wave. The firm has provided pro bono legal service to the nonprofit organization since 2012.
“Foley is proud to provide pro bono services to this important local economic engine,” said partner Curt Creely, a member of Foley’s Private Equity & Venture Capital Practice who works with Tampa Bay Wave to serve and promote the companies with which Tampa Bay Wave works. “The inaugural HealthTech|X Accelerator program empowers entrepreneurs in Florida to continue driving health care technology developments forward. We and the Foley team look forward to seeing how the startups in this vibrant community grow and enhance innovation.”
