Foley & Lardner LLP was recognized with Black Connect’s Pro Bono Partner of the Year Award for the firm’s continuing commitment to the organization’s legal services program.
Foley’s Racial Justice & Equity Practice Group assists minority owned businesses with a variety of transactional, marketing, and other corporate matters, including providing legal services through Black Connect’s Small Business Legal Services Program. As part of their partnership, Foley provides Black Connect members with business-related legal assistance and is available to help with pro bono or low-cost legal services on an ad hoc basis. Foley also partners with Black Connect on special events and training opportunities, like Black Connect’s Business Law Day, hosted at the firm’s New York office in 2023.
Black Connect is dedicated to eliminating the racial wealth gap in the United States by increasing the number and success rate of Black-owned businesses and advancing pathways to build Black wealth. Through the provision of programs, services, and networks of business support, the Black Connect ecosystem provides its members with access to capital, knowledge, and resources that advance their professional and entrepreneurial careers. With an emphasis on low and moderate income communities, Black Connect’s holistic approach fosters the socioeconomic growth and empowerment of the Black community.
