Foley & Lardner LLP partner Lawrence Vernaglia has been appointed to the American Health Law Association’s (AHLA) 2024 Class of Fellows.
Each year, AHLA’s Board of Directors approves a slate of esteemed individuals, recommended by the Fellows Coordinating Council, as AHLA Fellows. Fellows have distinguished themselves in their health law practice or work in the health law community and have shown a commitment to AHLA through their participation as speakers, authors, mentors, and leaders. They are regarded among the top health law professionals in the legal community.
Vernaglia is a health care lawyer with more than three decades of experience representing hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, and a variety of other health care providers. As department chair for Foley’s Industry Teams Department and the former chair of the firm’s Health Care Practice Group, he oversees strategy and leadership initiatives while providing outside policy counsel for organizations like the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association.
An AHLA member for over thirty years, Vernaglia served as a member of the Institute on Medicare and Medicaid Issues program planning committee from 2013-2018 and is a frequent educator and speaker at AHLA programs. He is also a contributor to AHLA publications and a member of its Dispute Resolution Service.
