Foley & Lardner LLP partner Natasha Allen has been named to the Daily Journal‘s 2024 Top AI Lawyers list. The annual list honors California attorneys engaged in significant work with emerging artificial intelligence technologies.
“Helping lead Foley & Lardner LLP’s artificial intelligence and venture capital teams from her office in Silicon Valley, Natasha Allen is not just interpreting the law; she’s shaping it, molding the legal landscape to enable rapid innovation in the 21st-century economy,” the Daily Journal writes in its profile of Allen, who is co-chair of Artificial Intelligence within Foley’s Innovative Technology Sector.
“We are seeing implementations of AI to address low hanging fruit opportunities and challenges,” Allen told the Daily Journal. “But most, perhaps all, large scale impacts going to need longer epochs to build and evolve. This may be another instance in which we overestimate the near-term impacts yet underestimate them in the longer term.”
Outside her legal practice, Allen is heavily involved in her Northern California community. Of her work with the Black Women Lawyers Association of Northern California, Allen said the organization is “designed to be a community that highlights women of color so they can thrive in the legal profession and provides those people who are interested the resources to figure out how to navigate the system.”
Allen also recently brought her experience working with emerging technology companies to Firstboard.io’s AI Council, which unites a collaborative group of accomplished women in technology and harnesses their collective talents to influence corporate governance and strategic decision making.
