Foley Serves as Underwriters’ Counsel of Houston’s $734M General Obligation Bond Sale

Foley & Lardner LLP served as counsel to Samuel A. Ramirez & Co. Inc. in its capacity as lead underwriter for the City of Houston’s recent $734 million general obligation bond sale. The underwriting syndicate also included Hilltop Securities, Wells Fargo Securities, Baird, Blaylock Van, and Estrada Hinojosa.
The bond sale included proceeds to settle a long-standing contract dispute between Houston and its firefighters and proceeds to refund and defease outstanding GO bonds and commercial paper.
