Erin Toomey Named Influential Woman of Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Erin Toomey is named among the 2024 class of Michigan Lawyers Weekly‘s Influential Women of Law.
The awards program honors Michigan’s women attorneys for their excellent work on behalf of the justice system and for their clients, as well as their commitment to the community and service to the legal profession. Honorees inspire and are accomplished leaders, serve as mentors, and contribute significant time and effort to volunteerism and pro bono initiatives.
Toomey, a government contracts lawyer in Foley’s Detroit office, helps companies reduce their risk and maximize recovery when contracting with the government. She represents clients across a range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, construction, information technology, and health care, and counsels such clients in all areas of government procurement, employing innovative and effective legal strategies to protect and promote her clients’ objectives.
Toomey makes significant contributions to her Michigan community and the legal profession. She has co-hosted an annual seminar on government contracts for over 15 years and is a previous board member of Women in Defense Michigan, a nonprofit professional networking and development organization for people across Michigan who contribute to national defense and security. Throughout her career, she has dedicated many pro bono hours to supporting Michigan-based clients, including in expungement cases and in spearheading a program to review applications for the Michigan Innocence Clinic.
