Foley Advises HonorHealth in Acquisition of Steward Health Care Facilities
Foley & Lardner LLP represented HonorHealth, a nonprofit health care system serving over five million people in the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas, in its acquisition of multiple health care facilities from Arizona-based Steward Health Care.
The acquisition was part of Steward Health Care’s restructuring process following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As part of the transaction, HonorHealth has assumed full operational control of Mountain Vista Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospital, Florence Hospital, Steward Mesa Hospital – Emergency Room, and multiple outpatient physician practices, adding approximately 1,200 new team members to HonorHealth.
With the addition of these facilities, HonorHealth now operates a total of nine hospitals across the state, further strengthening its position as a leading health care provider in Arizona. The integration of these new facilities will also support HonorHealth’s ongoing efforts to invest in responsible growth and ensure access to essential medical services for underserved areas.
The Foley team was led by partners Roger Strode, Steven Gerenraich, Holland N. O’Neil, and Edward Green and included partners Edward Burbach, Katherine Califa, Benjamin Dryden, Jennifer Hennessy, Kinal Patel, Leigh Riley, Gary Rovner, Emily Weber, of counsel Alexandra Jashinsky, and associates Brooke Bahlinger and Joseph Simon.
