Judith Waltz Describes Potential Health Policy Changes Under New Administration
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Judith Waltz commented on prospective health policy changes under the incoming presidential administration in the Report on Medicare Compliance article, “Outlook 2025: Disruption Is Expected, Along With More OIG Guidance, Payment Changes,” published by the Health Care Compliance Association.
“Every day will be a surprise and not all of them will be good surprises,” Waltz explained, noting that some changes will benefit health care organizations through reducing regulatory burden, including adjustments to nursing home staff ratios and the likelihood that the administration will drop civil monetary penalties that remain pending against nursing homes for noncompliance with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
Above all, Waltz highlighted that despite the potential for unpredictability, audits and enforcement will remain a focus.
“This is too lucrative an area for the government to ever walk away from,” she added.
