Kyle Faget Assesses Trump Administration's Approach to Addiction Treatment

Foley & Lardner LLP partner Kyle Faget commented in the Pharmaceutical Technology article, “Treating alcohol addiction: filling the medication gap,” assessing the Trump administration’s potential approach in tackling addiction treatment.

Faget said that many in the health care space are adopting a “wait and see approach” for the time being. While it is difficult to identify how the new administration will approach addiction treatment, she said, it is likely that it will take a tougher stance to drugs and drug trafficking in general.

Faget added that though the U.S. Surgeon General recently advised that alcohol containers should include a cancer warning on their labels, this change “seems unlikely” under the new administration as it will favor “less and not more regulation.”
