Mark Wolfson Recognized for Significant Contributions to Tampa Pro Bono Service

Foley & Lardner LLP partner Mark Wolfson received a certificate of recognition from the Legal Services Corporation at the Forum on Disaster Legal Services & Pro Bono Service Awards to honor his significant contributions to pro bono service in the Tampa Bay area.

Hillsborough Circuit Judge Darren Farfante spoke about Mr. Wolfson’s contributions and presented him with the certificate before a crowd of lawyers, judges, and other guests. Wolfson was nominated by Bay Area Legal Services, a nonprofit law firm offering free civil legal services to low-income Tampa Bay area residents.

“Since 1995, Wolfson has volunteered hundreds of hours of pro bono work, and under his leadership as pro bono chair, Foley & Lardner Tampa has contributed thousands more to Bay Area Legal Services,” The Florida Bar News wrote in a summary of the event.

Wolfson has served as Tampa chair of the firm’s national pro bono committee for nearly a decade. Deeply committed to giving back to the community, Wolfson also provides volunteer legal services to families with developmentally disabled young adults in guardianship and guardianship advocacy cases. Outside the legal profession, Mr. Wolfson has held leadership roles with Congregation Schaarai Zedek in Tampa and URJ’s Camp Coleman, a nonprofit overnight summer camp serving young people throughout the Southeast, for more than 30 years.

The Pro Bono Awards ceremony was hosted by Foley in the firm’s Tampa office on January 27, 2025, at which other lawyers from around the state were honored by other regional legal aid organizations.
