Steven Millendorf Addresses Business Challenges Amid Evolving AI Rules
Foley & Lardner LLP partner Steven Millendorf highlighted the challenges companies face as various U.S. states and foreign countries introduce legislation regulating artificial intelligence in the Bloomberg Law article, “South Korea, Japan Join Global Moves to Add Guardrails on Al Use.”
Millendorf said that the patchwork of different rules creates difficulties for companies operating across jurisdictions.
“Most companies who are producing Al or using Al may be international, and they’re going to have a challenge of, well, how do I comply with these, these various things?” he explained. “What they’re going to wind up having to do is expend a bunch of resources to comply with the most restrictive requirements.”
“We see that today in the U.S. versus Europe,” he added.
