Jason M. Allison

Jason Allison is a Public Affairs Director with the firm, bringing extensive experience in both the public and private sector in Florida. He focuses on information technology and government procurement and is a member of the firm’s Government Solutions (GS) Practice Group.
Jason is highly skilled at managing the creation, implementation, and maintenance of information systems in highly structured and unstructured environments. He regularly assists clients doing business with state and local government in developing their win strategy to drive business outcomes in government procurement while consulting on issues such as contract vehicles and regulation compliance, relying on his deep understanding of government operations, IT issues and business network based on his years of experience in the public and private sectors.
He served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the state of Florida under then-Governor Rick Scott and executive director for Florida’s Agency for State Technology, the state’s enterprise information technology organization. As the agency’s leader, Jason was responsible for the management and direction of technology programs, services, and policies. He identified efficiencies, increased IT coordination and compliance, and strengthened connections with agency and private sector businesses. His role included oversight of the agency’s operations, including the State Data Center, Security, and Strategic Planning teams. He also oversaw the creation of robust infrastructure and enterprise architectures, as well as provided guidance on the development of IT policies, procedures, standards, and rules.
Jason’s technology oversight experience also includes serving as information technology policy coordinator in Florida’s Executive Office of the Governor, Policy, and Budget Unit. In this role, he identified statewide policy issues and developed legislation to address shortfalls in state enterprise information technology governance and analyzed and briefed the governor on legislative budget requests. He also monitored IT projects for compliance, testified before legislative committees, and served as the governor’s appointee to specialized IT workgroups and task forces.
Prior to serving in the governor’s office, Jason served as CIO and director of information technologies at the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. He was responsible for a US$9 million budget and developed a comprehensive IT strategy for the department. He ensured data integrity and system security in an open government.
