Richard Caron is a member of the Business Law Practice Department of Foley & Lardner LLP. Richard is based in the Orlando office and is part of the firm’s Real Estate and Finance Practice Groups. Prior to joining Foley, he practiced at an international law firm in Orlando where he successfully advised clients in real estate, finance, and other commercial transactions.
Richard focuses his real estate practice on representing developers, primarily in the resort and hospitality industries. Richard’s real estate practice includes complex commercial real estate transactions and the strategic planning, development, and operations of residential, commercial real estate transactions and the strategic planning, development, and operations of residential, commercial, and mixed-use condominiums, timeshare and fractional ownership resorts, hotels, membership clubs, vacation and travel clubs, campgrounds, retirement communities, exchange programs, property and HOA management, product registrations and sales, and master planned and deed restricted communities. Richard also regularly counsels clients regarding state and federal laws and other regulatory requirements governing the offering and sales of real estate interests, consumer protection, consumer finance laws, and site operations and management.
Richard’s finance practice includes structured finance and secured lending transactions, including asset-backed loans, real estate lending and private equity transactions for investment banks, private equity companies and funds, commercial banks, and other clients. Richard has extensive experience in the financing, leasing, and sale and acquisition of real estate and corporate assets including negotiating purchase and sale agreements and financing and loan documents.
