Lauren E. Douglas is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP and practices out of the firm’s Boston office. Lauren is a member of Foley’s Fund Formation & Investment Management Group.
Lauren advises private investment sponsors in all aspects of fund formation, including capital raising, marketing, preparing offering documents, drafting organizational documents, and counseling clients on regulatory, compliance, and operational issues both during an active fund raise and during the operational stage, including with respect to sponsor carried interest and management company arrangements. Lauren’s sponsor clients include established and emerging private equity, venture capital, growth equity, credit, and fund-of-funds sponsors.
Additionally, Lauren advises institutional investors, including endowments, family offices, governmental plans, fund-of-funds, and corporations on their private capital investment activity.
Lauren has also advised private fund sponsors, buyers, and sellers in secondary transactions.
Prior to joining Foley, Lauren was a summer associate with two other full-service law firms, where she supported both the corporate and litigation departments. Lauren graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was a member of the Business Law Society and served as the Managing Editor of the Wake Forest Law Review. Lauren is a member of the Wake Forest School of Law Pro Bono Honor Society, which recognizes individuals who complete at least 75 hours of pro bono legal work during their time in law school. Lauren has continued her pro bono endeavors while at Foley and was recognized as a “Pro Bono Champion” in 2023.
