John J. Feldhaus is a retired partner and intellectual property lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. He concentrated his practice in patent litigation involving electronic and computer technologies and was lead counsel in numerous cases on subject matter, including confocal microscopy, computer power management, plasma enhanced continuous vapor deposition, dynamic random access memories and liquid crystal display technology. He was a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice.

John began his career as a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 1974.

1974年に米国特許商標庁で特許審査官に就任した。『エレクトロニクスおよびコンピュータ特許の実務 (Electronics and Computer Patent Practice)』および『エレクトロニクスおよびコンピュータ特許と著作権の実務 (Electronics and Computer Patent and Copyright Practice)』という教科書を共著者として執筆した（両書ともPatent Resources Instituteより出版）。また、Patent Resource Group, Inc. に招聘され、数多くの講演を行っている。

レンセラー工科大学卒業（理学学士号（電気工学専攻）、1970年）。その後同大学において、1973年から1974年にわたりシステム工学分野の大学院課程研究に従事した。ジョージメーソン大学ロースクール卒業（法学博士号、成績優秀で取得、1980年）。

米国国際貿易委員会(ITC)、米国特許商標庁、連邦控訴裁判所連邦巡回区裁判所、連邦控訴裁判所第9巡回区裁判所、連邦地方裁判所バージニア州東部地区裁判所および連邦地方裁判所コロンビア特別区裁判所で弁論を行う資格を有する。バージニア州の弁護士資格を有する。
