Sarah Tang brings comprehensive material science experience to her role as a patent engineer in Foley’s Mechanical & Electromechanical Technologies Practice, providing support to clients throughout the patent application process.

Prior to joining Foley, Sarah was a material science intern for Medtronic in Mounds View, Minnesota, where she performed experimentation on epoxies and wires for implantation. Sarah was also a materials science intern at Cummins in Columbus, Indiana where she analyzed failure modes of various materials, worked on optimizing a nitriding process, and proposed sustainability initiatives. She was also a materials science intern at Sierra Space in Madison, Wisconsin where she developed plans to implement in-house citric passivation. Sarah was also a summer patent engineer with Foley in 2022.

Sarah’s undergraduate studies focused on electrical and computational materials. Her capstone was on additive manufacturing and its current technical challenges.
