Christopher G. Terris

Chris Terris is an associate and business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. Chris practices primarily in the areas of corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, securities law, capital markets and corporate governance. He is a member of the firm’s Transactions Practice and Capital Markets & Public Company Advisory Practice.
Chris regularly represents buyers and sellers in public and private mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, reorganizations and recapitalizations. Chris also advises clients regarding state and federal securities law compliance, and represents issuers in securities transactions, including public and private offerings of equity and debt securities. Chris serves as outside general counsel to a number of companies, including private equity portfolio companies, advising on all matters of corporate and securities law.
During law school, Chris worked for Judge Rudolph T. Randa of the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the Counterterrorism Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. He also served on the Executive Board of the NYU Journal of International Law and Politics. Prior to entering law school, Chris worked for Congressman Paul Ryan (WI-01) and Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (WI-05).
