Foley has a national and international energy law practice formed around our Energy Industry Team, which is a multidisciplinary group of approximately 60 attorneys with diverse backgrounds, experience and skills specific to the energy industry. Our Mexico office further allows the International Energy Team regular interaction with Pemex, CFE and the Mexican Regulatory Commission on behalf of its clients, giving the Firm invaluable experience.

Our team provides extraordinary responsiveness and service to energy clients in a broad range of practice specialties including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, finance transactions, securities, tax, infrastructure development, project finance, commercial contracting, environmental, intellectual property, labor and employment, bankruptcy and workout transactions, energy regulation and arbitration and litigation.
Strong Presence in Mexico
Foley has had an important energy practice in Mexico since the office’s inception in 1992. Our attorneys have helped foreign and domestic clients with all aspects of their energy business needs, including: representation before the Mexican energy authorities (CRE, CNH, Ministry of Energy, Pemex and CFE); project development and project finance transactions; mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and buyouts; formation of strategic alliances and corporate reorganizations; and other general business matters related to the energy sector.
