Racial Justice & Equity

Racial Justice and Equality Hero Image.

Foley’s highly skilled Racial Justice and Equity Practice Group (RJEPG) underscores the firm’s commitment to standing up against racial injustice and complements our continued membership in the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance. Since the group’s founding in 2020, our attorneys have spent thousands of hours helping clients combat prejudice and effect change.

The more than 500 attorneys affiliated with RJEPG span a broad range of legal disciplines, allowing us to provide a multifaceted approach to addressing unfair and unequal treatment based on race or ethnicity. We take on cases and projects from impact litigation to legal support for mission-based organizations focused on eliminating racial wealth gaps for minority-owned business. We also work to bring about change through community partnerships and support for minority-owned businesses.

At Foley, we have always embraced our responsibility to provide access to the justice system for those otherwise powerless to protect their rights. But the countless injustices suffered by minorities in recent years as well as the disproportionate impact COVID-19 had on communities of color demanded a more coordinated focus of efforts. Through RJEPG, we are better able to identify potential engagements, facilitate training, coordinate staffing, and provide a vehicle for the exchange of information accumulated through our work on matters involving racial injustice.
